Forensic Context

A study in mice demonstrated that the miR-181b-2-3p was one of the top 20 most abundant known miRNAs in the thymus [Chen et al. DOI:10.1080/09553002.2016.1207821]. In human skin, research has identified 197 miRNAs associated with wound healing, burn wound healing, and scarring, with the miR-181b-2-3p being upregulated six hours post-burn in heat-shocked skin epidermal stem cells compared to controls [Siu et al. DOI:10.1111/wrr.13100]. Furthermore, the miR-181b-2-3p is listed among miRNAs dysregulated in epidermal stem cells from normal skin in the context of thermal-induced injury [Wang et al. DOI:10.1007/s00438-024-02183-w].
