DOI: 10.1016/j.fsigen.2025.103230]. A study in humans demonstrated that the mir-188 is an early biomarker for contrast-induced acute kidney injury [Shihana et al. DOI:10.1016/J.Toxlet.2020.09.003]. Another study in humans identified the mir-188 as a candidate for distinguishing monozygotic twins in peripheral blood, showing significant differential expression in all ten twin pairs tested via droplet digital PCR and exhibiting strong degradation resistance in bloodstains stored at room temperature for up to 180 days [Wang et al.
