A review of the literature indicates that the mir-19b-2 is dysregulated in the fetal hippocampus following prenatal alcohol exposure, as identified in studies using human, mouse, rat, zebrafish, and sheep models [Mandal et al. A review of literature indicates that in rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) subjected to whole thorax irradiation, mir-19b-2 was identified as a feature in a Day 3 three-group survival prediction model, which achieved 71% accuracy in forecasting whether an animal would die in less than 90 days, between 90 and 269 days, or survive the 270-day study [May et al. DOI:10.1038/s41598-022-16316-x]. In studies on prenatal alcohol toxicity, mir-19b-2 was reported as down-regulated after 7 days of ethanol exposure in suspension culture in embryonal cell differentiation models [Mandal et al. DOI:10.1002/Jat.3504].
