A study in humans identified the miR-103a-3p as upregulated in serum from patients with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and as a potential biomarker upregulated in the plasma of young patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) via small RNA sequencing [Matyasova et al. A study in mice demonstrated that the miR-103a-3p exhibited significant upregulation in antemortem skin lesions within 0-24 hours in hanging cases, where it was associated with the suppression of NF-κB-mediated inflammatory pathways [Fanzhang Lei et al.
