A study in humans demonstrated that the mir-1915-3p was significantly downregulated in plasma-derived exosomes from male trauma patients compared to male operative controls, and it is known to drive hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells toward a megakaryocytic fate [Munley et al. DOI:10.1097/TA.0000000000004225]. Another human study investigating marathon-induced cardiac strain identified the mir-1915-3p as a diagnostic biomarker for myocardial infarction that is downregulated in MI, though it was only mentioned in the introduction and not experimentally studied in that specific exercise model [Shirvani Samani et al. DOI:10.3390/jcm11010005].
