A study in humans identified the miR-193a-3p as downregulated in sepsis patients compared to healthy controls through RNA-sequencing of peripheral blood [Qin et al. DOI:10.1097/JCMA.0000000000000209]. A separate review of human skin burn studies reported the miR-193a-3p was downregulated in heat-shocked skin epidermal stem cells six hours post-burn and was also associated with burn wound healing and scarring processes [Siu et al. DOI:10.1111/wrr.13100]. A study in Sprague-Dawley rats demonstrated that the miR-193a-3p was downregulated (0.598-fold) in left ventricle tissue one hour after isoproterenol injection, as identified by deep miRNA sequencing [Hosoya et al. DOI:10.1016/J.Legalmed.2024.102475].
