A study in humans demonstrated that circulating hsa-miR-194 was identified as a potential biomarker for myocardial infarction, showing a significant increase in the plasma of male patients compared to healthy controls using next-generation sequencing [Baulina et al. In mice, mmu-miR-194-5p was identified as a candidate biomarker for lethal radiation injury, with its expression significantly decreased in serum on day one specifically after lethal irradiation and showing a positive correlation with lymphocyte counts [Jia et al.
