Forensic Context

A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-196b-3p is downregulated in hypertrophic scar tissue compared to normal skin [Siu et al. DOI:10.1111/wrr.13100]. A study in humans identified the miR-196b-3p as a high diagnostic performance circulating microRNA with a cardiac-specific pattern, showing low levels in healthy plasma and robust diagnostic performance for acute myocardial infarction [Wang et al. DOI:10.1186/s40364-024-00690-x]. In a rat model, the miR-196b-3p was listed among the top 10 miRNAs whose expression levels decreased significantly with time in plasma exosomes following AMI induction [Zhou et al. DOI:10.007/s00414-025-03583-2].
