A study in humans demonstrated that the mir-197 was significantly positively correlated with age in peripheral blood, with a correlation coefficient of 0.433 and a raw P value of 1.28E-05 in a microarray cohort [Meder et al. In a separate human study on myocardial fibrosis after acute myocardial infarction, the mir-197 was identified as the most down-regulated DEmiRNA and was part of a potential ceRNA network involving LINC00664 and JAK2, with its expression validated by qRT-PCR [Wang et al. A study in human clinical samples demonstrated that the mir-197 showed significant differential expression, with the highest mean expression in fertile semen, followed by oligospermic semen, azoospermic semen, and vaginal fluid [Alsaeed et al.
