A study in humans demonstrated that the mir-1976 is upregulated in burn hypertrophic scar and its derived fibroblasts compared to normal fibroblasts [Siu et al. DOI:10.1111/wrr.13100], and another human study identified the mir-1976 as an intermediate-abundance plasma exosomal miRNA upregulated in coronary artery disease patients compared to acute myocardial infarction patients, where it was part of an 18-miRNA panel with diagnostic potential [Guo et al. DOI:10.21037/atm-20-2337]. A study in humans demonstrated that plasma exosomal hsa-miR-1976 was identified as a diagnostic biomarker for acute myocardial infarction (AMI), where it was upregulated in the coronary artery disease (CAD) group compared to the AMI group [Guo et al. DOI: 10.21037/atm-20-2337].
