Forensic Context

A study in humans demonstrated that plasma-derived exosomes from trauma patients with hip/femur fractures exhibited significant downregulation of the miR-202-3p, which is expressed in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and reduces inflammatory cytokine expression, compared to operative controls [Munley et al. DOI:10.1097/TA.0000000000004225]. In human Sertoli cells, the miR-202-3p induces apoptosis and inhibits proliferation by targeting LRP6 and Cyclin D1, and it safeguards meiotic progression by targeting Separase [Doghish et al. DOI:10.1007/s00210-024-03594-7].
