A study in mice demonstrated that the mir-204 showed a decreasing trend (5-fold) 5 to 10 days post-wounding, though this was not statistically significant when normalized to the stable reference gene RNU6B [Etich et al. In a separate study in mice exposed to lethal total body irradiation, serum miR-204-5p was identified as an established oncogenic marker and was significantly downregulated (Log2(FC)=−5.24) in the early phase post-exposure [Chakraborty et al.
