A study in human samples demonstrated that miR-204-3p was selected for kidney tissue identification, showing pronounced separation from liver, lung, skin, heart, and skeletal muscle (ΔΔCq >5) but exhibited expression similar to brain, which posed problems in mixtures and forensic-type samples [Sauer et al. A study in mice demonstrated that the miR-204-3p is up-regulated in the nucleus accumbens of methamphetamine-sensitized animals and regulates Sema3A and Plxna4 [Xu et al.
