A study in mice demonstrated that the miR-211-5p was significantly downregulated (Log2(FC)=−7.21) in serum during the early phase following lethal total body irradiation, where it is associated with promoting resistance against melanoma [Chakraborty et al. DOI:10.1038/s41598-020-62255-w]. In human skin, research has shown that the miR-211-5p is downregulated in deep partial thickness burn skin four days post-injury compared to normal skin [Siu et al. DOI:10.1111/wrr.13100]. In diabetic erectile dysfunction rat models, sequencing analysis identified the miR-211-5p as being downregulated in penile tissue [Song et al. DOI:10.3389/fendo.2022.1034043].
