A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-106b-3p is differentially expressed between monozygotic twins, as it was shared across two pairs of twins in a microarray analysis of blood samples [Xiao et al. DOI:10.1016/j.fsigen.2019.05.003]. In a separate human study on dilated cardiomyopathy etiologies, the miR-106b-3p was downregulated in volume overload cardiomyopathy compared to ischemic cardiomyopathy, a finding validated by qRT-PCR [Bonet et al. DOI:10.3390/biom14050524].
