Forensic Context

A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-28-5p was upregulated 24 hours post-injury in skin wounds compared to unwounded skin [Siu et al. DOI:10.1111/wrr.13100]. A study in rats demonstrated that the miR-28-5p was significantly up-regulated in the nucleus accumbens following chronic methamphetamine treatment, with expression increasing by 302% in the chronic treatment group compared to the acute treatment group [Sim et al. DOI:10.1007/S11011-017-0061-X]. In human research, the miR-28-5p was identified as differentially expressed between individuals within monozygotic twin pairs, being shared across two pairs of twins in blood sample analyses [Xiao et al. DOI:10.1016/j.fsigen.2019.05.003].
