A review of human studies identified 197 miRNAs associated with wound healing, burn wound healing, and scarring, with the let-7c being downregulated in deep partial thickness burn skin four days post-burn compared to normal skin and also downregulated in heat-shocked fibroblasts and in skin wounds [Siu et al.
