A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-30b-5p showed no significant expression differences in plasma or hippocampal tissue between a single case of sudden unexpected death in epilepsy and ten control cases [De Matteis et al. DOI:10.1016/J.Legalmed.2017.12.003]. In a porcine model of spinal cord injury, serum levels of the miR-30b-5p were significantly dysregulated and showed high diagnostic accuracy for differentiating severe from moderate injury (AUC = 0.88) and moderate from mild injury (AUC = 0.79) [Tigchelaar et al.
