A study in postmortem human hearts demonstrated that the miR-30e-3p was significantly upregulated in both infarcted and non-infarcted regions of myocardial infarction hearts compared to healthy controls, with its strongest expression observed in the non-infarcted myocardium [Wilmes et al. DOI:10.1016/J.Forsciint.2023.111892]. In a separate human plasma study, the miR-30e-3p was identified as upregulated in patients with acute coronary syndrome via small RNA sequencing [Tong et al. DOI:10.3390/ijms19051467]. A study in rats demonstrated that heroin exposure significantly alters brain miRNA profiles, with the miR-30e-3p upregulated 1.92-fold in the ventral tegmental area [Pence et al. DOI:10.1007/S00221-024-06972-Y]. In traumatic brain injury research, the miR-30e-3p is identified as a diagnostic biomarker, being altered in the cerebrospinal fluid and saliva of pediatric patients [Li et al. DOI:10.1016/j.neuint.2023.105643].
