A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-302c-3p is one of five miRNAs specifically interacting with the paternal-derived circNAPEPLDiso1 in spermatozoa, suggesting a role as a sponge for miRNAs inside fertilized oocytes involved in the control of the cell cycle [Di Agostino et al. DOI:10.3389/fcell.2020.00389]. A study in human ex vivo skin explants demonstrated that the miR-302c-3p was among 37 preselected miRNAs analyzed by qPCR in exosome-like vesicle-enriched dermal interstitial fluid fractions, but it could not be detected in this compartment following a deep partial-thickness burn injury [Foessl et al.
