A study in humans demonstrated that a panel of 18 plasma exosomal microRNAs, including the miR-3127-5p, achieved an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.87 for diagnosing acute myocardial infarction (AMI) with 85% sensitivity and 75% specificity [Guo et al. A systematic review of human studies found that the miR-3127-5p is associated with traffic-related air pollution (TRAP) component exposure, specifically with PM10, PM2.5, black carbon, ultrafine particles, and NO2 in plasma [Kotsyfakis et al.
