Forensic Context

A study in humans identified the miR-3135a as a top upregulated circulating microRNA in patients with acute myocardial infarction compared to non-AMI controls, validated by qRT-PCR [Zhong et al. DOI:10.1002/jcla.23099]. In a separate human study, the miR-3135a was found to be upregulated in ethanol-exposed human embryonic stem cell-derived cortical interneurons, indicating its involvement in alcohol-induced transcriptomic changes [Lim et al. DOI:10.1038/s41398-021-01635-w].
