A study in humans demonstrated that the mir-3184-3p was significantly increased (2.516-fold) in plasma-derived exosomes from acute myocardial infarction patients compared to controls [Kim et al. DOI:10.3390/ijms25179619]. Another human study found the mir-3184-3p was downregulated in the plasma of coronary artery disease patients and validated by qRT-PCR, showing an AUC of 0.741 for distinguishing these patients from controls [Zhong et al. DOI:10.1002/jcla.23020].
