A study in human postmortem serum demonstrated that exosomal miRNAs, including the miR-3187-3p, are stable for at least three days when stored at or below 20°C [Kanno et al. DOI:10.1007/S00414-022-02913-Y]. A study in human postmortem brain tissue demonstrated that the miR-3187-3p is part of a circRNA-miRNA-mRNA network in the nucleus accumbens of subjects with alcohol dependence, where it is negatively correlated with circRNA-3010153 and GPD2 mRNA and is predicted to modify neuronal cell response to oxidative stress [Vornholt et al.
