A study in humans identified the miR-3190-3p as a biomarker for recurrent myocardial infarction risk, showing it was downregulated in whole blood of patients with recurrent MI compared to those without, with this differential expression remaining significant after false-discovery rate correction in a replication cohort, though it was not significantly different in plasma samples [Onuoha et al.
