A study in humans with coronary artery disease identified the miR-3190-5p as downregulated in whole blood of patients with recurrent myocardial infarction after percutaneous coronary intervention, with this differential expression remaining significant after false-discovery rate correction in a replication cohort, though it was not significantly different in plasma samples [Onuoha et al. A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-3190-5p was differentially expressed in whole blood samples from monozygotic twin pairs, being shared across two pairs and suggesting a role in distinguishing genetically identical individuals [Xiao et al. DOI:10.1016/j.fsigen.2019.05.003].
