A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-320b is a potential biomarker for sepsis, showing upregulated expression in the peripheral whole blood of patients compared to healthy controls [Qin et al. DOI:10.1097/JCMA.0000000000000209]. In a separate human study investigating acute myocardial infarction, the miR-320b was mentioned as having decreased plasma levels in MI patients in a previous NGS study in Chinese populations, though it was not experimentally studied in that work [Baulina et al. DOI:10.1016/j.yjmcc.2018.07.129].
