A study in human patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) demonstrated that the miR-328-5p is significantly upregulated in plasma across mild, moderate, and severe TBI groups compared to healthy controls, showing good diagnostic accuracy with an AUC of 0.888 for distinguishing TBI patients from controls [Qin et al. In a separate study of young human patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), small RNA sequencing identified the miR-328-5p as downregulated in patients with ST-segment elevated myocardial infarction (STEMI) [Tong et al.
