Forensic Context

A study in humans identified hsa-miR-330-5p as a miRNA with a potential regulatory role in sepsis, where it was part of a constructed competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network and was bioinformatically predicted to interact with the core prognostic mRNAs CD247, IL2RB, and TGFBR3 [Zhang et al. DOI:10.1186/s12920-023-01460-8]. A separate human study investigating plaque rupture in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction patients noted in its discussion that the miR-330-5p has been associated with carotid plaque instability in a clinical investigation [Li et al. DOI:10.1016/j.ygeno.2020.11.019].
