Forensic Context

A study in severely injured human patients demonstrated that the mir-361 showed an indirect correlation with total fresh frozen plasma transfused [Uhlich et al. DOI:10.1016/j.surg.2014.06.017]. Another study in human trauma patients found that hsa-miR-361-3p was more abundant in injury-stage T cells compared to recovery stage according to NGS, though it was not significantly upregulated in RT-qPCR validation [Rau et al. DOI:10.2147/JIR.S375881]. In a separate human study, a different isoform, miR-361-3p, was found to be significantly up-regulated in the serum of patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome compared to healthy controls [Mo et al. DOI:10.2147/NSS.S382765].
