A study in human cadavers demonstrated that exosomes and exosomal miRNAs, including the miR-3613-5p, are stably preserved in postmortem serum for at least three days when stored at or below 20°C [Kanno et al. Separately, a study in human preterm newborns with early-onset sepsis found the miR-3613-5p was significantly upregulated in peripheral blood plasma compared to gestational age-matched controls [Janec et al. DOI:10.14712/fb2023069050173].
