A study in human aortic endothelial cells demonstrated that the miR-122b-3p was induced at 72 hours following a 10 Gy X-ray dose, with its target mRNAs such as NEK7 being repressed [Chopra et al. DOI:10.1038/s41598-022-24051-6]. In a separate human clinical study, the miR-122b-3p was identified as differentially expressed and downregulated in patients with sepsis compared to those with septic shock [Li et al. DOI:10.1038/s41598-025-89946-6].
