A study in human myocardial autopsy specimens demonstrated that the miR-363-3p was down-regulated in the hearts of patients deceased with sepsis compared to non-septic controls [Lehto et al. DOI:10.1038/s41598-024-81114-6]. Separately, a literature review for diagnostic serum microRNAs in acute myocardial infarction listed the miR-363-3p as a potential diagnostic biomarker for MI, though its behavior under strenuous exercise was not experimentally assessed in that human study [Shirvani Samani et al.
