A study in humans demonstrated that the mir-371b-5p was excluded from final analyses due to grossly outlying amplification efficiency (32%) during the development of a qPCR-based miRNA panel for body fluid identification [Sauer et al. A study in human samples demonstrated that the mir-371b-5p was previously reported as menstrual blood-specific, and its expression in menstrual blood showed a 1.64-fold change compared to peripheral blood in microarray data [Li et al. DOI:10.1016/j.fsigen.2017.05.012].
