A study in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) demonstrated that the miR-1225-5p was significantly downregulated (fold change 9.17) in exosomes derived from cells under heat stroke temperature conditions, identifying it as a potential noninvasive biomarker for heat stroke [Chen et al. In human denatured dermis from deep burn patients, the miR-1225-5p was significantly upregulated (11.61-fold) compared to paired normal skin, indicating its role in wound healing [Liang et al. DOI:10.1016/j.burns.2011.10.014].
