A study in mice demonstrated that serum mmu-miR-374c-5p expression was significantly decreased to 61% on day 1 specifically after lethal (10 Gy) total body irradiation, and its expression positively correlated with peripheral blood lymphocyte counts (r=0.6649) [Jia et al. DOI:10.1016/j.toxlet.2024.07.911]. In forensic transcriptome research, miR-374c-5p has been identified as one of several miRNAs used in an age prediction model from human bloodstains [Haas et al. DOI:10.1016/j.fsigen.2021.102486].
