A study in Göttingen minipigs demonstrated that the miR-376a-3p is an early marker of lethal radiation, being consistently down-regulated across all post-total body irradiation phases and linked to carcinogenesis [Chakraborty et al. DOI:10.1038/s41598-023-45250-9]. In a separate investigation using Sprague–Dawley rats, the miR-376a-3p was found to be upregulated in lung tissue at 24 hours after burn injury, with a fold change of 2.6, and was associated with inflammation and apoptosis pathways [Zhang et al. DOI:10.5505/tjtes.2018.98123].
