A study in rats demonstrated that the mir-376b was down-regulated more than 1.5-fold in the hippocampus at 1, 3, and 5 days following controlled cortical impact injury, identifying it as a potential marker for traumatic brain injury progression [Sun et al. In a separate investigation in Sprague-Dawley rats, the mir-376b was upregulated 2.62-fold in the corpus cavernosum of obese rats with erectile dysfunction, and its expression was validated by real-time PCR [Bai et al.
