A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-378d is differentially expressed in blood samples from monozygotic twins, where it was shared across two pairs of twins in a microarray analysis [Xiao et al. Another study in humans found that the miR-378d was downregulated in serum exosomes from patients with sepsis and septic shock compared to healthy controls [Li et al. DOI:10.1038/s41598-025-89946-6].
