A study in rats demonstrated that a single methamphetamine injection significantly altered the CSPG5 mRNA expression in a brain region- and time-dependent manner, with a decrease in the medial frontal cortex at 24h, an increase in the amygdala at 9 and 24h, and a transient decrease in the habenular nucleus at 1h [Numachi et al.
