Forensic Context

A study in human sepsis patients identified the FOXO3 as a transcription factor with high expression in peripheral blood that is negatively correlated with 28-day survival rates, localizing its expression to monocyte, NK-T, and B cell lines [Liu et al. DOI:10.0000000000002072]. In a separate human cardiovascular study, the FOXO3 was identified as a protein-coding gene neighbor of novel long noncoding RNAs and was found to be up-regulated in left ventricular biopsies from patients with ischemic and dilated cardiomyopathy compared to controls [Firat et al. DOI:10.1016/j.heliyon.2023.e13087].
