A study in humans identified the IGKJ2 as an important gene with a negative coefficient in a lasso regression model for age prediction using RNA-Seq data from dried blood stains (RNAgE data) [Dørum et al. DOI:10.1016/j.fsigen.2023.102976]. This research, which aimed to find mRNA markers for forensic age estimation, demonstrated that a lasso-selected gene list, including the IGKJ2, achieved a mean absolute error of 4.46 years for age prediction in the RNAgE dataset.
