Involved in several processes, including chromatin remodeling; regulation of chromosome organization; and regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process. Located in cytosol; fibrillar center; and nucleoplasm. Part of Ino80 complex and MLL1 complex. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Jul 2025]
Forensic Context
A study in mouse cardiac mesenchymal stem cells demonstrated that HDAC11 overexpression activated chromosome organization pathways, including the upregulation of the chromatin remodeling factor INO80C mRNA, which was part of the transcriptional reprogramming that promoted cell cycle progression and proliferation [Zhang et al. DOI:10.3390/biom15050662].
