Forensic Context
A study in mice demonstrated that the LAPTM4B gene showed the greatest increase (5.66 log2 fold) in juvenile CCI-injured whole blood versus sham and was elevated in juvenile over adult CCI-injured samples, being associated with transport processes [Hazy et al. DOI:10.1038/s41598-019-45089-z]. In severely burned adult humans, the LAPTM4B gene was up-regulated (fold change 1.93) in leukocytes from patients with burn size >40% TBSA, forming part of a 39-gene signature associated with platelet activation and degranulation [Sood et al. DOI:10.0000000000000905].
