Forensic Context
A study in humans demonstrated that the APMAP mRNA is a candidate for time-of-day prediction in forensic bloodstain analysis, where its expression pattern contributed to a penalized regression model achieving a root mean squared error of 3 hours and 44 minutes for estimating deposition time [Gosch et al. DOI:10.1016/J.Fsigen.2025.103287]. In a separate human study, the APMAP protein was found to be overexpressed in menstrual blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells from women with endometriosis, identified through integrated proteomic analysis [Penariol et al. DOI:10.3390/ijms231911515].
