Leucine-Rich Repeat-Containing Protein 25
FLJ38116
Monocyte And Plasmacytoid Activated Molecule
Predicted to act upstream of or within several processes, including canonical NF-kappaB signal transduction; connective tissue replacement involved in inflammatory response wound healing; and response to angiotensin. Located in cytosol; endoplasmic reticulum; and microtubule cytoskeleton. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Jul 2025]
Forensic Context
A study in mice demonstrated that the LRRC25 is an anti-inflammatory regulator expressed at higher levels in a specific monocyte subset (Mono2) during lethal and non-lethal *E. coli*-induced sepsis, where it functions to inhibit NF-κB signaling [Zhang et al. DOI:10.1093/jimmun/vkaf140]. This protein, which inhibits NF-κB signaling, was expressed at higher levels in this monocyte population, and its expression pattern was associated with the progression of the immune response during sepsis.
