Forensic Context

A study in humans using RNA-sequencing of serum identified the MT-ND3 (MT-ND3) as a differentially expressed mRNA that was significantly downregulated in sepsis patients compared to healthy controls [Yu et al. DOI:10.1016/j.heliyon.2023.e15034]. A study in Piophila casei demonstrated that the MT-ND3 exhibited the greatest genetic variability (Pi = 0.120) in a direct comparison between P. casei and the morphologically similar Piophila megastigmata [Bi et al. DOI:10.3390/genes14040883].
