A study in differentiated human SH-SY5Y neuronal cells demonstrated that the MZT1 was consistently differentially regulated following exposure to six different per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) at 30 μM for 24 hours, identifying it as one of 11 potential biomarkers for neuronal PFAS toxicity [Running et al. DOI:10.1021/Acschemneuro.4C00652]. A study in differentiated human SH-SY5Y neuronal cells demonstrated that exposure to six PFAS compounds consistently altered the expression of the MZT1 across all treatments, identifying it as a potential biomarker for neuronal PFAS toxicity [Running et al. DOI:10.1021/acschemneuro.4c00652].
