Forensic Context
A study in rats demonstrated that the PPP3CA was significantly altered in expression on day 1 following a 20% total body surface area burn injury, as part of a comprehensive analysis of 740 significantly altered genes in liver tissue [Jayaraman et al. DOI:10.1016/j.jss.2007.05.025]. A study in mice demonstrated that hyperoxia exposure significantly upregulated mRNA levels of the PPP3CA in lung tissue, suggesting a serious risk for developing fibrosing alveolitis [Shimada et al. DOI:10.1007/S00414-008-0226-6]. In human and mouse studies of heart failure post-myocardial infarction, the PPP3CA was identified as a hub gene in a specific fibroblast subset, with its expression characteristics integrated into a predictive deep learning model [Wang et al. DOI:10.1016/j.ijbiomac.2025.143171].
