Involved in positive regulation of p38MAPK cascade. Located in microtubule cytoskeleton and plasma membrane. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Jul 2025]
A study in humans demonstrated that the RELL1 was included as a candidate time-of-day prediction marker in a targeted RNA sequencing panel for bloodstains but its coefficient was zero in the final penalized regression model [Gosch et al. DOI:10.1101/2025.02.03.636230]. In a separate human postmortem brain transcriptomic study, the RELL1 was identified as an OUD-specific hub gene in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex co-expression network, implicating it as an inflammatory regulator in opioid use disorder [Seney et al. DOI:10.1016/j.biopsych.2021.06.007].
